Interoperability & PKI myths

[20 June 06] Two new "Babysteps" discuss interoperability and expose some of the myths surrounding PKI.

No topic in PKI is more important and yet more confusing than "interoperability". A new 'Babystep' strips interoperability back to the bare essentials: What do you need to know about a sender's certificate and their CA in order to accept their transactions?

Turning to the many other myths surrounding PKI, is it really onerous and dificult to use? And are there no alternatives? As with all mythology there are grains of truth behind these misconceptions, but moden PKI is being built in new ways that put all the historical problems to bed.

See Babysteps.
